I've read some of the ongoing discussion at the web site you mention in this post. I'd say the root idol for the hosts of that site is not primarily vulgarity itself, but "Freedom to say or do anything I want, thereby proving how cool I am"; it just happens to be expressed in vulgarity--thereby proving how immature they are.
"You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
